Atlanta Int Convention 2014:The Big Party. Does this look like WT believes Armageddon is coming "soon"?
by AndDontCallMeShirley inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=potrr2qxhue.
.. if armageddon is "imminent", why is wt focused on sight-seeing, entertainment, travel, etc.
instead of preaching and saving people??.

I just watched the mormon video. Wow. I guess I'm amazed at how similar the terminology and delusion is, but at least love was mentioned.
What would a still in JW think after seeing the Mormon one? I'm going to test this with some friends that are in but definitely not toeing the JW line.

A brother from Miami posted the video on a JW Facebook group I am still in. No comments, just "likes" at this point. His link still works.

A Thread for Cyclists - Where Do you Ride?
by cofty ini took up cycing a couple of months ago just to get fitter and lose a bit of excess weight.. i bought a second-hand hybrid bike (weighs only slightly less than a truck) and fitted road tyres.
four or five times a week i will go for a ride after work for an hour or so.
i am fortunate enough to live in rural north england surrounded by limitless quiet roads.

I just got home from our local Critical Mass ride. I'm new to the group and have really enjoyed myself so far. I did their Sunday Morning ride, too. Much better way to appreciate life than sitting in a kingdom hall. I am thinking about buying an Electra bike. I'm currently using my daughters bike. We ride along here http://207.156.20.146/fpc/commerce/com09117.jpg and through all the neighborhoods downtown.

JW refuses to provide wedding stationery to Gay couple
by KateWild ini was outraged at this and had to post it.. http://jehovahswitnessreport.com/blog/jw-refuses-to-provide-wedding-stationery-to-gay-couple.
i think she is a hypocrite and i bet she sells her invites to fornicators, or does she ask them if they are having sex before marrige, before she takes their money?.
i was never like this when i was a jw, it's even more disturbing that she is going to ask her elders what to do.

This news was actually posted on the JW News Facebook page. I really wonder who runs that page as it has over 70,000 likes and gets comments from active JW's. Questions don't seem to be removed...in case, anyone wants to make comments that are logical and calm. I do think "extreme", blatant remarks get removed though.
I do wonder how JW's expect to handle situations where same sex couples are legally married and have children. Would they just refrain from offering "the truth"? I guess they think it's a sigh the end is approaching. Sigh. If only they'd research the history on topics that are in the news.
Thanks, Kate for sharing!

Need to expand your cultural horizon? Socialize? Here's an interresting find
by teel incouchsurfing http://www.couchsurfing.org/.
the idea is to help people get to know the world better, through a local's eye.
there are hundreds of thousands of users all over the world, who have a couch free waiting just for you to occupy it, while you get to know his culture, his town in a much better way than any travel agent could show you.

I have had two girlfriends successfully utilize the site. They hosted and they stayed. They've made some lasting friendships.
